The Secret Bach
Christopher Hogwood - clavichords
The repertoire of the clavichord by the great composers has remained largely hidden from the concert-going public. Christopher Hogwood unlocks the music written for this instrument popular in its day before superseded by the pianoforte. The first of a series of new solo recordings by one of the repertoire’s great exponents. The series is also designed to show off a variety of clavichords in collections from around the world showing the diversity of the instruments. On this disc he plays on a Hass an Bodechtal and a Schmall instrument.
