Nicolas Hodges has a particular affinity with Finnissy, more that half the music on the disc is dedicated to or was commissioned by Hodges or received their first performance by him. The title comes from one “chapter” of a series of pieces under the overall title of ‘The History of Photography in Sound’ written between 1997 and 2000.

"Finnissy’s abstruse style demands phenomenal accuracy and musicianship from the player, and gets its here from the pianist Nicolas Hodges.  His control of the unbelievably elaborate, half-hour title piece is astonishing."
